What is it?


The measurement of Total Immunoglobulin E (IgE) plus 36 common allergens in a blood sample.


The screen includes testing for the specific immunoglobulin E that has been produced by the body as a defence mechanism against: Banana, Citrus Mix, Tomato, Beef, Pork, Cheddar Cheese, Milk, Egg white, Chocolate, Codfish, Almond, Peanut, Soybean, Walnut, Wheat, Yeast bakers, Birch white, Hazelnut, London plane, Timothy Grass, English Plantain, Mugwort, Nettle, Rape, Alternaria, Aspergilus, Candida, Cladosporium, Penicillium, Cat, Cow, Dog, Horse, Feather mix, Cockroach mix, Mite pterory, Mite farinae.

If all of these are Negative, the blood sample can be tested against numerous other individual allergens upon request.

 

Who Should be Tested?
Anyone of any age that suffers from or suspects that they suffer from allergies.

 

Next Step
If a raised Total lgE and Positive allergy screening results are found you should discuss these findings and your symptoms with your own General Practitioner. He/She will be able to advise on avoidance or treatment where necessary.
